Greener Awards: Apply Now!

* Is your business or residential building reducing its impact on the environment?
* Are you proud of your business’ or building’s earth-friendly efforts?
* Are you willing to share what you do and how you do it with other South Loop businesses and residential buildings?

We’ve heard of so many different “green” actions that buildings and businesses have undertaken. We thought it would be a great time to both recognize those efforts and help spread the word to others about what they could be doing. Thus… the Greener South Loop 2009 Awards and Recognition Program. Any South Loop business or residential building – rental or condo – that is proud of its efforts to be more green is invited to apply for recognition from the Alliance. The program is designed to celebrate – and share – successes. In other words, the application is not like applying for LEED certification. We will recognize early efforts as well as those that are well-advanced. All applicants will be invited to an event in October to celebrate the winners and share their green practices in an idea-exchange forum.

Applications must be received by July 31, 2009 and winners will be notified in September. Alliance for Greener South Loop boundaries are: Van Buren to Cermak; Chicago River to Lake Michigan.
