About the event
Pursuant to MCC 2-80-070(e)(1), the district council holds public meetings, at least monthly, where residents can discuss safety issues, community concerns and priorities. Residents can also raise awareness and work to address concerns about policing in the 1st district and increase accountability.
The 1st District is made up of the following neighborhoods: Near West Side, Near North Side, Near South Side, The Loop, Douglas, Armour Square, and Lower West Side. It is home to City Hall, the State of Illinois Building, Soldier Field, Millennium Park, Chicago Board of Trade and much more.
The district council will set aside at least twenty (20) minutes to provide an opportunity for public comment at each meeting. Anyone may submit written public comment by delivering it at the public meeting or by emailing Javon.Lewis-Brown@cityofchicago.org.
